Well we’re moving on a little bit surely everyday – tonight we’re in Morehead City.
Today we were joined by our first visitors, my brother Robert and his wife Christina. They live in California and as part of their trip they drove across the states and stopped off in a nearby town Raleigh to visit a good friend, Ernie.
He then drove them to Oriental this morning, stopping to pick up some parts that we had delivered to New Bern. So our departure today was a little later than usual, only leaving the marina at about 1pm.
It was like a mill pond out on the Neuse River and before we knew it we were in Adams Creek and heading down towards Morehead City. It was a great introduction for Christina as she tends to suffer from Mal de Mer. But as she says – “So far, so good!”
We’ve seen some dolphins here just near the boat but of course we were too slow to get some nice pics. There are also a couple of pelikans around and even a jelly fish swimming in the marina.
Last night at the marina we were berthed next to Knotty Kat who we’ve seen all the way down since the dismal swamp, and just before we left Oriental I saw a familiar looking trawler come in and yes you guessed it – it was Linda and Steve from Yesterday’s Dream. We had a quick catch up before going our separate ways once again. No doubt we’ll catch up again further down the line.
Meanwhile we are still waiting for news from back home – our daughter Dominique is expecting their second baby and today is her due date!
But Skype is a wonderful thing and we’ve been managing to keep in touch with all three daughters and all their goings on!
No news yet, but will keep you posted
