Update 2013-05-03 Amanzi has been sold for details see http://maryandlance.com/?p=2877
Yes, it’s true! We are selling our great lady and hoping that she will give as much or more pleasure to another couple as she gave to us
She took us all the way from Baltimore to Miami and then on to the Bahamas as far as George Town in the Exumas and back to Miami in great comfort and safety. I mention “great comfort” specifically because for most of our 8 months aboard we were with 2 or 3 other people. Her 2 separate cabin layout provided great privacy and comfort. Her queen size beds with memory foam mattresses were supremely comfortable giving a great night’s rest. The convertible dinette sleeps 2 adults in comfort
The main owners’ ensuite head ensured nice privacy.
The fresh water shower, that never ran out of water because of the watermaker capable of producing 20 gallons per hour, enabled everyone to have long luxuriating hot showers. No need for those awful standard 3 minute “boat” showers!!! And when we had our daughter and our grandsons (aged 3½ and almost 2), they were able to “play” in the bath to their heart’s content.
The galley with the oven turned out many great loaves of home-made bread as well as muffins on many an occasion while the full size fridge and freezer enabled us to stock up with plenty of fresh and frozen goods. The freezer was very handy when I caught Mahi Mahi on a few occasions as it was impossible to eat the whole fish in a day or two, so we froze the fillets and enjoyed them later.
The twin helm stations enabled comfortable helming. Using the lower helm when the weather turned rough, while the flybridge on all those calm days of travel, was fantastic. The upper helm also provided great visibility and ease of communication when raising or lowering the anchor.
She has a Lloyd’s certified Manson Supreme Anchor with 200’ of chain and 100’ of nylon ensuring that no matter what the weather, wind direction or changing tidal currents, you will always sleep peacefully knowing that you will never drag the anchor. Even when the tide and current turns, the Manson will remain set at all times.
Lounging in the cockpit with sun-downers, waiting for the famed “green flash”(which we witnessed while at Pipe Cay), or swimming off the swim platform and cooling down or simply catching fish will wash away the stresses of life and rejuvenate you.
Included is Amadink (that’s what I named our brand new 10’ Mercury RIB) with her, also brand new, 9.9 HP Mercury 4 stroke outboard. Zipping around to an area for some lobster diving was a cinch She gets up and planes quite easily with 2 people. Took us from Volleyball Beach across the mile and a half to the grocery store in George Town quickly and easily!!
Yes, Amanzi is all set for further adventures. All she needs now is you to take control.
Those 2 x 220hp Cummins diesels (with about 700 hours) will reliably take you wherever you choose to go. Yes, those 2 puppies (I named them Apollo and Zeus) will eagerly take you along with a deep throaty grumble that reaches into the depths of any man’s belly!!! Mmmmm, I loved those engines.
Ah well, here I am waxing lyrical again!! Problem is, there’s so much more I could tell you about Amanzi but it would be overkill. I guess I’m just sad that our plans were changed (we were originally planning on returning this year and going back to the Bahamas and then on to the Caribbean) and I still hanker to return but, sadly, it cannot be.
So, Amanzi must be sold.
She has many other features visable if you click on the following links. She is listed on Yachtworld with my broker, Mike Dickens of Paradise Yacht sales in Fernandina Beach, Fl. and is on a slip at Tiger Point Marina – here’s a walk thru video.
I cannot do a Private Sale as I am in New Zealand and can’t meet with any potential buyers so everything will be handled by my broker. However, if you want any further information, please feel free to contact me by leaving a comment and I’ll get back to you.
