So we were all packed up getting into the dinghy for our trip to shore and up Boo Boo Hill when a squall came over and the heavens opened – again!!! We seem to be having a lot of rain!! Certainly more than I had come to expect!! Fortunately it didn’t last long and we made our way to shore. About a 20 minute walk – well, more a hike through rugged terrain, so rugged that Zeke had to be carried most of the way – we came upon the “blow Holes.” These are small holes in the rocky surface at the top of the low lying cliffs – about 15” diameter – that the water surges through at high tide. When we were there it was past high tide so no water was coming through but the air was still being forced through and came out with a blast of noise. Very impressive!

Then we continued up Boo Boo Hill – only about 60’ high, mind you!. It is tradition for passing vessels to leave a momento of their stay most boats leave a piece of wood – usually driftwood – with the boats name on it. So we looked at the various signs and there was one with dates of all visits by this one boat – 03, 04, 05, 06, 08, 10, 11. I had previously found a bit of driftwood and Leanne had written Amanzi’s name on it, so we left our momento there too. Long may it stay!

Then, headed back to the beach where the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves again. Got back to the boat just in time to miss another heavy shower!!

After lunch it was time for a quick nap for the boys and then we all went to a good snorkelling reef. Once again, just as we were about to leave, would you know??? Another rain shower!! Didn’t last long :)

Had a great time snorkelling and found many huge lobster – just about 1 in every hole we looked in!! Pity we are still in the park and couldn’t take any. But we are getting more proficient at spotting them! Just you wait, Mr Lobster…..

Once again, it started raining just as we got back to the boat.

Today dawned sunny and warm :)

We’ll be staying here for another day and then heading further south tomorrow – out of the park and hopefully we’ll be able to use our newly acquired lobster spotting skills to catch us a few :)

So we decided to take Amadink and see another beach, Beryl’s Beach, and do some more snorkelling aound Emerald Rock. This was about a mile or so away – not too distant. As we were heading out of our anchorage, I noticed there were some swells – only about  a foot or so – rolling in. But not much further on a larger swell came in and as Amadink went over one, another “broke” over the bow soaking Luther and Zeke who sit on the floor in the bow of the dinghy!! They looked a bit stunned at the drenching but with all of  us laughing, they overcame their “shock” and were laughing with us.

Well, that decided it for us and unanimously we decided to forego that part of the trip and headed back to “our” little secluded beach for the morning where Luther engaged in his new found skill of snorkelling.

So back to Amanzi for lunch, a siesta for the boys, some sunning herself for Leanne while Mary baked some muffins for afternoon tea, while I read a book..

Now, I have just dropped everyone off at our beach and Mary has taken some books to the office to exchange. It’s a great system and available in many of the places.

Not far from us a couple of people off one of the yachts are now kite-boarding up and down the channel – looks very cool!!

Tonight is a perfect afternoon for a BBQ………….

The skipper forgot to mention that we had to wade across Banshee Creek in order to get up Boo Boo Hill. Luther scored well though with a piggy back on Gramps’ shoulders!
